Schubiedoobie music is the brainchild of Alex Schub AKA Schubiedoobie.
Alex Schub has been a writer/performer for six decades. He is a multi-instrumentalist. His main instruments are clarinet, guitar and theremin. He has the great fortune of performing with great artists including Sonny Terry, Mable Hillary, Jon Sholle and the Los Angeles Philharmonic (on the Theremin).
With Rhino Records, he performed and wrote on several comedy albums such as, ”Red Square” and “The Kosher Club” where he claims to have invented the first Jewish Reggae music.
He has had an eclectic performance career ranging from singing in a multitude of clubs (including The Club Donna in Passaic New Jersey), doing sketch and improvisational comedy and acting in both theatre and movies. This includes the short horror movie “Remote Viewing” in which he played a German scientist whose mind is being controlled by a lab experiment gone wild. It was a role that only he could play.
Strawberries and other tasty tunes is Schubiedoobie Music’s first release.
More albums are forthcoming.
Schub’s Personal motto is, “The older I get, the better I was”
His personal philosophy is, “There is no life without music and laughter…. at least not one that I would want. I truly believe that music and humor are the two most important survival tools in the world, although lots of money and a good pastrami sandwich wouldn’t hurt.”
